This case study follows a patient undergoing an in-patient detox. Her progress is typical – not straight forward! There are many teaching points along the way. It is an ideal introduction for students new to mental health, and as a patient information programme.
Bonus features include a conversation between two consultant Psychiatrists and their experiences with patients who are going through a detox, as well as their thoughts on alcoholism and ways treatment can be approached. There is also a short video featuring nurses from the Cardinal Clinic, who regularly help and monitor patients throughout detox.
